Progression Respun banner

Progression Respun is a mod that alters the way Minecraft's progression works inspired by Minecraft Diverge and Slow Your Roll. Wooden and stone tools are no longer craftable, and flint and copper tools take their places instead. Tool and armor recipes have been altered to be significantly more expensive, and the durability system has been given some tweaks.

Features

  • Flint and copper tools in place of wooden and stone tools
  • Flint pebbles generate all over the overworld
  • Ores drop more raw materials, but they will smelt into nuggets, diamonds need to be polished before they can be used, but they have a chance to shatter
  • Chainmail armor is craftable, it and leather are necessary to be worn as Under Armor for other armor to be equipped (there is a tag for armor that can bypass under armor like turtle helmets)
  • Tools and armor no longer get destroyed upon breaking and instead simply become useless amidst the ongoing tool preservation crisis (armor trims, you're not helping)
  • Unit repairs at anvils are free and anvils break slightly less often
  • Durability for vanilla tool materials has been buffed and armor values have been nerfed (they stack with under armor)
  • Smelting iron and gold tools results in ingots instead of nuggets
  • Netherite rework: made ancient debris more common with a chance of air exposure, slightly more expensive ingot recipe
  • Mobs will have more HP and deal more damage depending on how low they spawn in the world. They will despawn in a radius around the player when waking up (radius depends on the difficulty)
  • Potions can be used multiple times, there are no more Lingering Potions, and Tipped Arrows are crafted with normal Potions
  • Redstone Devices use Copper instead of Iron, making them Oxidizable
  • Beds cannot be used without shelter
  • Copper crucible for smelting raw ores

This mod is intended to be used alongside Traveler's Diary, Thumb and Thicket, Farmers' Delight as well as Mob AI Tweaks and Immersive Interactions. Originally developed for Lily's Vanilla.

  • Enchantments Rework

    • rework mending → changes ingots to nuggets for repairing tools

    • no enchanting books, books are found and need to be inserted into chiseled bookshelves at the enchanting table to appear in it (Enchantery)
      • Moon Phases Curse chance
    • !! make anything that supports enchants enchantable in the table.
    • !! When Armor with Armor is in the Table, enchant Armor not Under Armor
    • different Tool Material Types interact with specific Enchantments → Buffs & Nerfs
    • !! ONLY specific materials can use mending!
    • no more "base" enchantments → no sharpness, protection, efficiency
    • ? tools can be sharpened on a grindstone
      • sharpness/efficiency for limited durability on the tool
    • Grindstone damages Items when removing enchants

    • have a chance for crops to decay; when not removed, the decay spreads to neighboring crops

    • Worms can be used to fertilize Farmland
      • can be found while digging up dirt-like blocks
      • can be attached to Fishing Rods as Bait

  • Structure Overhaul

    • Updated and beautified Nether Fortress
      • No more Blaze spawners -> Trial Spawner-like behavior
      • No more Wooden Chests -> replaced with special Fortress Chests that cannot be mined/slowly
      • Fortress Omen which spawns Wither Skeletons
    • Updated and expanded Dungeon Rooms
      • Trial Spawner-like but only grants rewards upon being lit up with light sources around it
      • Multiple rooms
      • Chests are locked and need to be opened using a Dungeon Key
        • Chests stay open as long as items are inside and the Spawner is lit up -> can only generate new Loot when the Dungeon is cleared again
        • Ominous Variant and Dungeon Omen -> obfuscates spawner??
    • Updated Woodland Mansion
      • Unlike other Structure Mods no Trial Spawners
      • Mansion Keys are needed to open locked door to treasury
    • More in-world tutorial builds → guide for beacon, wither, etc.
    • Witch Hut beautified
  • End Platform spawns in Outer End

  • End Material on par with Netherite but different buffs
