Reasons:

  • The fork is supported and updated.
  • ESLint 9-native with full schema support and needing no hacks.
  • Windows support
  • Multiple other bugfixes.
  • UX improvements - better error messages and more autofix capabilities.
  • Extensive documentation.
  • Better configuration format (although the old one is still supported).

Thanks for taking the time to put this together and for the effort you’ve put into the PR.

That said, there isn’t currently an issue with the existing dependency in the project, so I’m not looking to replace it. I’m also trying to keep the project’s dependency surface stable and avoid introducing new dependencies from publishers I’m not familiar with.

For now I’m going to leave things as they are, but thanks again for contributing and taking the initiative.
