A emotional regulation app designed to help users stabilize focus, reduce anxiety, and reset their mental state using precision audio.
Instead of soft visuals, meditation clichés, or generic wellness advice, ESPIN treats the brain like a system that occasionally needs calibration.
Think of it as a mental operating system powered by sound.
ESPIN combines two scientifically grounded audio layers into a single real-time mixer:
-
Melody (Lofi / Chill Beats)
Emotional grounding through familiarity, nostalgia, and rhythm. -
Texture (Neural Frequencies & Noise)
Functional audio such as:- 40Hz waves for focus and cognitive clarity
- Brown noise for anxiety reduction and calm
- Other frequency-based textures designed to influence brain states
Together, these layers allow users to actively tune their mental environment.
A central dashboard where users manually blend:
- Texture (neural noise / frequencies)
- Melody (music)
This gives full control over emotional comfort vs. cognitive stimulation.
A guided diagnostic tool where users describe how they feel:
- Scattered
- Drained
- Anxious
- Overstimulated
ESPIN automatically adjusts mixer levels to match the optimal audio profile for that state.
An abstract, geometric entity displayed at the center of the interface.
- Rotates, morphs, and reacts to audio activity
- Acts as a visual indicator of system status
- Reinforces the idea of an active, living “core”
The interface is inspired by:
- Futuristic HUDs
- System diagnostics
- Sci-fi operating systems
Design language:
- Stark, minimal layouts
- Data-driven visuals
- Command-style prompts (e.g.,
INIT_AUDIO_PROTOCOL)
Color palette:
- Off-white
- Charcoal
- Sage green
No faces. No stock meditation imagery. Just clean, functional calm.
ESPIN is built for users who:
- Prefer control over guidance
- Trust sound science over vague affirmations
- Want a calm experience without “soft” wellness aesthetics
This is not a meditation app.
This is not therapy.
It’s a tool.
ESPIN: Companion Core is currently in development.
This repository documents the concept, design direction, and future implementation.
ESPIN is not a medical device and does not replace professional mental health care.
It is intended as a self-regulation and focus aid using audio-based techniques.
