Description

This occurred because:

  • The CMakeLists.txt required cmake_minimum_required(VERSION 2.8.12)
  • Modern CMake versions (4.0+) no longer support CMake < 3.5
  • macOS Sonoma ships with newer CMake versions that enforce this restriction

Solution

Updated the minimum CMake version requirement from 2.8.12 to 3.5:

Why This Works

  • Backward Compatible: CMake 3.5 was released in 2016 and is widely available on all modern systems
  • Feature Complete: All features used in this project are available in CMake 3.5+
  • Future Proof: Aligns with modern CMake practices and removes deprecation warnings
  • macOS Compatible: Works with all CMake versions available on macOS Sonoma and later

Update CMake minimum version from 2.8.12 to 3.5 to finally make it work when using it in MacOS architecture.
Before, running bundle install was not working

Ruby on Rails application bundle install finally working:
