Welcome to logonia, a plant growth response model designed to help you simulate how plants react to different environmental conditions. This guide will help you download and run logonia on your computer seamlessly.
Before you start, ensure your computer meets these requirements:
- Operating System: Windows 10 or later / MacOS Mojave or later
- Memory: 4 GB RAM minimum (8 GB recommended)
- Disk Space: 200 MB available space
- Java Runtime Environment (JRE): Version 8 or later
- NetLogo: Version 6.1.0 or later (download from NetLogo)

.zipfile to extract the contents. - Move the extracted folder to your Applications directory.
- Open the folder and double-click on the logonia application to start.
After installation, you can start using logonia:
- Open NetLogo (make sure you have it installed).
- Select "File" then "Open" from the menu.
- Browse to the location of the logonia model file, usually located in the installation folder (or where extra files were extracted).
- Click on the logonia model to open it.
Once inside NetLogo, you can use the following features:
- Adjust parameters related to climate change and plant growth.
- Run simulations to observe how plants respond to changing conditions.
- Analyze the data generated for better understanding.
Suppose you want to explore how drought affects plant growth. You can adjust variables like rainfall frequency and temperature, then run the simulation to see the potential impacts on plant health and population. This makes logonia a fantastic tool for students and researchers in environmental sciences, agriculture, and climate studies.
Here are some useful features that logonia offers:
- Agent-Based Modeling: Observe how individual plants react to changes over time.
- Visual Output: Use graphs and maps to visualize plant growth and environmental impacts.
- Data Export: Save simulation results for further analysis and reporting.
