Crabdrop is a web game where you bet on which crab will fall first.
The Crabs are suspended from the ceiling by fishing line but are not very secure. There are up to eight crabs. The user places a bet on which crab will drop.
The game is played as a set of three rounds.
The user starts with $10.
Each round will start with 4 to 8 crabs suspended by fishing line from the ceiling. The user will select a crab that they think will drop first, and place a bet from the funds they have. The timer will start and one crab will drop at some time within 60 seconds.
If the user selected the right crab they will win double the amount of money they placed as a bet. If the user selected the wrong crab they lose that money.
The round then ends.
The goal of the game is to end up with more money than what you started with.
While waiting for the crab to drop, short one or two sentence crab facts will be displayed to the user every 10 seconds.
The Crabs will be depicted by the Crab emoji. The fishing line by a thin black line. When the crab drops, it will fall to the floor at a rate of 20 pixels per second. The background is blue like the ocean. The floor is a brown wooden floor. The user funds are shown in a square box in bold gold font.
The game is a web browser game, using nodejs to generate the web content.
