Behavioral Box Miniature Electronics

Description

There are several different types of miniature electronics- all of which are used in creating the water/food dispersal system.

One group is primarily used for the beam breaks, while the other group is used for the transduction of the beam break signal from the food/water signal to the solenoid.

Beam Break Mini-Electronics

The only mini-electronics used here is a 220-Ohm resistor, which is inserted through the Photo Interrupter Board.

Solderable Breadboard Mini

  • MOSFET: A through-hole transistor that controls the voltage passing between the Arduino/Motorshield and the solenoid.

  • 10K Ohm Resistor: Resistor that attenuates voltage that passes between the Arduino/Motorshield and the solenoid.

  • Zener Diode: Diode that protects the Solenoids from any excessive voltage, causing current flow to reverse in case of this.
