Galaxy Tab-S2 8", Tab-S 7"(maybe)

First...

  • Enable Debug mode
  • Connect with your PC

Custom DPI

cd to adb

cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools

Get current

(in command prompt)
adb shell dumpsys display | grep mBaseDisplayInfo

Tab-S2 is 320 for 8"

  • Setting DPI x1.5 is nice.(x2.0 is big and all build-in programs goes much ugly)
  • Keyboard layout is broken
  • Camera won't work. It stops.
  • Latest(?) Platform Version works fine with keyboard and camera

Tab-S is 320

mBaseDisplayInfo=DisplayInfo{"湲곕낯?쇰줈 ?쒓났?섎뒗 ?붾㈃", uniqueId "local:0", app 1600 x 2560, real 1600 x 2560, largest app 1600 x 2560, smallest app 1600 x 2560, mode 1, defaultMode 1, modes [{id=1, width=1600, height=2560, fps=60.000004}], colorTransformId 1, defaultColorTransformId 1, supportedColorTransforms [{id=1, colorTransform=-22}], rotation 0, density 320 (359.646 x 361.244) dpi, layerStack 0, appVsyncOff 0, presDeadline 17666666, type BUILT_IN, state ON, FLAG_SECURE, FLAG_SUPPORTS_PROTECTED_BUFFERS}

단기Tab is 160

  • default: 800 x 1280, density 160 (188x189) dpi

Change DPI

To Change:

(in command prompt)
adb shell

(in android)
wm density 480
reboot

(to reset)
wm density 320

Result

Tab-S Home program will abnormally quit when not 320.

  • Browser will work. Press program list to choose browser
  • Install Google Launcher and it'll work
  • Setup fails
  • Camera also fails, maybe cause of hard-coded numbers

단기tab: Home will abnormally quit.

  1. launcher browser (chrome)
  2. change dpi
    wm density 240

  3. don't quit the browser
