This options moves all Issue Entitlements from one TIPP to another TIPP. You might need to use this option when:

  • You have duplicate TIPPs within a Package and you want to delete one of the TIPPs without deleting the associated IEs. You can transfer the IEs from the TIPP you are going to delete to the one you are going to keep (once all TIPPs have been transferred you can delete the unwanted TIPP using Expunge Deleted TIPPs
  • When a title transfers Platforms and you create a new TIPP for the new Platform (within the same package) and want to move all existing IEs to the new TIPP on the new Platform
  • When a duplicate package has been created in error and has been used by an institution to create a subscription with IEs. In this case you could transfer IEs from TIPPs in the erroneous package to the equivalent TIPP in the correct Package. If you are transferring IEs between TIPPs which are in different Packages please see the note below for issues to consider before doing this.

When you select this option you will be asked to enter the ID of the TIPP you want to move the IEs away from, and the ID of the TIPP you want to move the IEs to:

The TIPP ID number can be found by viewing the TIPP details page and finding the number at the end of the URL. E.g. for the TIPP URL https://www.kbplus.ac.uk/test/tipp/show/2996, the ID is '2996'.

When you have entered the IDs for both TIPPs click the "Look up TIPP Info..." button and you will be shown the details of both TIPPs and the number of IEs that will be transferred:

If the details are correct, you can proceed with the transfer by clicking 'Transfer', otherwise you can amend one of the TIPP IDs and click "Look up TIPP Info" once more, or exit the page to leave the process completely.

N.B. It is not generally recommended for using this process to move IEs between TIPPs that belong to different packages. This is because the process transfers the IEs between the TIPPs but does not make any other changes. If you do transfer IEs between TIPPs in different packages you will also then need to check each Subscription affected (i.e. Subscriptions containing the transferred IEs) and make sure that each Subscription has a link to the Package to which the new TIPP belongs. If the Subscription does not have a link to the Package, you will need to create this link using the 'Link Package' option and linking the Package without entitlements.
